Magnesite brick
Description:
The main crystalline phase of magnesite brick is periclase, which has the typical characteristics of general alkaline refractory product. The raw material of magnesite brick mainly is magnesite. According to different production processes magnesite brick can be divided into sintered magnesite brick and chemically combined magnesite brick. The sintered magnesite brick is made of a magnesite sand which has been deadly burned and has a proper particle size ratio, and then a brine and a sulfite pulp waste liquid are added as a binder, and then pressure-molded, and finally fired at a high temperature. However, the chemically bonded magnesite brick does not undergo a firing process, so its strength is low, and its performance is not as good as that of sintered magnesite brick, but it is inexpensive.
In regenerative chamber of glass melting furnace, in addition to the commonly used magnesite based checker brick, magnesite-zircon bricks, magnesite olivine brick, fused cast AZS block, and low porosity fireclay brick are also used. They usually work at different positions in regenerative chamber. AZS block, Magnesite zircon brick usually work at top courses, high grade Magnesite brick usually work at hot zone ,Magnesite olivine brick usually work at condensation zone, the bottom layer consists of low porosity fireclay checker brick.
Advantage:
High refractoriness, higher thermal conductivity, strong alkali resistance
Application:
Converter, RH vacuum processing furnace, tunnel kiln, glass furnace regenerative chamber, checker brick
